      • Hawai‘i Agricultural Statistics - Access to the annual statistical report, specialized crop reports, crop weather, crop thefts and more; includes archives back to 2000; Source: Hawai‘i State DOA and USDA's NASS Hawai‘i Field Office.

      • Hawai‘i Department of Labor and Industrial Relations - Information that helps with research, business planning, job search and career decisions.       • Hawai‘i State Data Book - Official summary of statistics on the social, economic and political organization of Hawai'i; access to Data Books from 2000 to current; Source: DBEDT.
      • Bureau of Justice Statistics - Links to synopses, downloadable files and full text of U.S. and International crime statistics.
      • Bureau of Labor Statistics - Lists of publications and some data tables. Includes a listing of the most frequently requested data series, the economy at a glance (in table format), information about the Consumer Price Indexes and full-text of the current Occupational Outlook Handbook.
      • Census Bureau - Links to information about U.S. Census Bureau publications, some available on-line with full-text. Full-text resources include U.S. and world population clocks and an economic clock with current U.S. economic indicators. The Bureau also maintains the International Data Base, containing statistical tables of world demographic and socio-economic data organized by country; historical census data from 1790 forward; and a list of State Data Center websites, many of which provide free on-line access to statistics.
      • National Agricultural Statistics Service - Includes searchable agricultural data from the U.S. Census of Agriculture and a list of reports and publications.
      • State and Metropolitan Area Data Book - Full-text of the print reference tool, starting with the 1997-1998 edition.
      • Statistical Abstract of the United States - Full-text of the print reference tool, starting with the 1995 edition.
      • U.S. Census of Agriculture - Taken every five years, the agriculture census includes information on land use and ownership, operator characteristics, production practices, income and expenditures and many other areas; access to historical documents from 1840 to 1950 and to the most current ones; produced by the USDA's NASS.
      • United States Historical Census Browser - Selected demographic and socio-economic variables from the decennial censuses, searchable by state and county. The search facility limits the number of variables one can use in a single search. Selected data from 1790 to 1960 are available to users.

Publications

      • Directory of State, County and Federal Officials - Contains the names, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of government officials. Published annually.
      • Guide to Government in Hawai‘i - The guide discusses state and county departments and their organization and the agencies of the federal government with offices in Hawai‘i. It cites the statutory authority for each state office and includes organization charts and an index. Frequency varies. Last published: 2007.
      • USDA Economic Research Service Publications - Access to electronic publications including research and outlook reports and State fact sheets.
      • Government Printing Office - Indexes and full-text of U.S. Government documents, including the U.S. Government Manual and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance. There are various search engines, including the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications and lists of publications by agency. There is also a database of federal depository libraries, searchable by state or area code. The section on Congressional information includes a searchable index to the Congressional Record from 1983 to the present, searchable editions of the Congressional Directory from the 104th Congress to present, a searchable index to Congressional hearing from 1979 to present and other tools.

Geography, Weather and Time

      •  Geographic Names Information System (U.S. Geological Survey) - Massive searchable database of place names in the United States and its dependencies, giving latitude/longitude, estimated population, elevation and in many cases links to digital maps of the locale. The search form for U.S. geographic names allows researchers to do field searches by name, state, county, elevation, population, or type of feature (choose from an alphabetical listing from "airport" to "woods").
      • Map Quest - Maps of countries, regions and cities, searchable by place name, address, city, state/province, or postal code. There are also clickable interactive maps available for many areas around the world. Users can also create personalized travel maps. Free user registration required for some services.
      • National Weather Service - Forecasts and climatologically data by state and locality, with current weather conditions.
      • Thesaurus of Geographic Names - Search facility for the controlled vocabulary of geographic names established by the Getty Research Institute for searching its various online databases. Entries usually include all or most known versions of a particular geographic name, often with brief historical notes about the locale.
      • Time Zone Converter - Quick conversion of current time anywhere to GMT, conversion between any two time zones that automatically factors in Daylight Savings Time and other local variances, a feature for setting up customized time zone cards, and a list of time zones by country.
      • Time.gov - Real-time java-based online clocks giving the official time for all U.S. time zones. A service of the National Technical Information Service and the U.S. Naval Observatory.
      • U.S. Naval Observatory - Provides a variety of services related to timekeeping and astronomy, including online applications for generating daily and annual sun and moon data by locale and date, synthetic views of day and night on the earth's surface for any data and time between 1700 and 2300 C.E., and a static world time zone map. (c.e.: "Common Era." The Common Era covers the time from Christ's birth to the present day).
